This aerial panorama of Daytona International Speedway® was taken by James Blakeway and features a twilight view during a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race. The 480-acre motorsports complex, which opened in 1959, boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, featuring everything from NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to go-karts and superbikes. The Speedway is also home to “The Great American Race®,” the DAYTONA 500®. The 2.5-mile long tri-oval track features 31-degree banked turns and a huge infield area, where campers can be seen enjoying the many events. Featured in the infield is Lake Lloyd, where water skiers can be seen carving up the water under the Florida sun on race days.
